OkoFEN Appliances . . .

Choice of OkoFEN colours

OkoFEN boilers are available in a variety of colours and a
selection of power outputs, ranging from 2 - 8 Kw to 11-32Kw.

Okofen; There is now a larger single boiler in the range which is the PES56, with an output range of 11-56kw, designed for larger buildings or groups of buildings in a district heating scheme, whereby heat is distributed from a single boiler usually through an underground network of super-insulated pipes, commonly referred to as a heat main. The dimensions of the PES56 are listed on a separate data sheet (PES56 data sheet - PDF file). It is currently only available with a SUCTION fuel delivery system. There is also a 64kw boiler planned for the near future.

At the other end of the spectrum is the 'Mini' boiler, designed for small scale applications, such a 3/4 bedroom houses built to current high standards of thermal insulation and energy conservation (ref. Building Regs. Part L). ÖkoFEN "Mini" - PDF file

OkoFEN Energy BoxWe can also announce the arrival of the OkoFEN 'Energy Box' range, which combine a housing for pellet store and boiler.

Details of the options for this style of installation are available here (Energy Box : Specifications and Prices . . . PDF file),
but it is relevant to add that they are designed to accept solar thermal panels mounted on the roof or side walls and are suitable for sites where the heat is pumped, usually underground, via a heat main to the building(s) requiring heat.

RIKA Appliances . . .

Rika Tavo Aqua log fired boiler

Rika; We recently took delivery of a Tavo Aqua, the new log fired boiler stove, which has gasifying combustion technology and hence superior efficiency to conventional woodstoves with heat exchangers integral to the firebox.

We displayed this alongside an Evo Aqua and Memo in the 'Green Horizons' section of the Smallholders and Garden Festival at the Royal Welsh showground at Builth Wells on 18/19th May 2007 (see photo below).

The Tavo Aqua is designed to link with a thermal store (or buffer tank) and could couple up with solar thermal panels to meet all the heating requirements of a well insulated 2/3 bedroom house, built to current standards or a larger one built to near passivhaus standards. The principle being that 4-5 hours of full combustion during each long winter evening would deliver enough stored energy to provide automatically controlled heating and hot water for the remaining periods of each 24hr day.
